1. She was born in Germany
Pia’s father is a German while her mother is the Filipina. She was conceived in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg on September 24, 1989.
Her parents separated and this sent Pia to Cagayan de Oro, where she grew up, she was raised for a brief time in Iligan City.
2. Pia was an insecured teenager
Yes, believe it or not, she wasn’t always confidently beautiful.
She revealed on a previous article of Sun.Star that she was insecure as a young girl. During her elementary days, her classmates would tease her of her height. This caused her self-esteem down.
3. She holds a degree in Culinary Arts
Pia finished culinary arts at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies in San Juan, Manila.
4. Pia was a cover girl before
As early as 11, Pia had to provide for her family. She was a breadwinner at a young age.
She posed for magazines like Candy and Meg to help support their needs.
5. She joined Star Magic as Pia Romero
She entered the show business first before pageantry. Pia joined ABS-CBN’s theatrical agency, Star Magic when she was 4.
Her name appeared on ASAP beginning in 1996.
Pia was also seen on children’s shows and films before she got her big break in afternoon TV show “K2BU.”
6. She used to write for Philippine Daily Inquirer
Yes, writing is also one of Pia’s sidelines. Is there anything she can’t do?
Pia used to contribute to Inquirer’s “2bU” section in Lifestyle. There, she reviewed beauty and cosmetics products.
7. She’s in the pageant industry for two years only
Pia’s first pageant experience was in 2013 Binibining Pilipinas, where she placed first runner-up. It didn’t take long after she got the crown three years after and represented the country to the Miss Universe.
8. Pia is a perfectionist
According to Pia, her signature catwalk took her three hours to train just to perfect it.
9. She worked as a makeup artist and a stylist
