More viewers nationwide tuned in to the beginning of Ving’s (Awra) amazing journey to becoming a superhero in “Wansapanataym Presents: Amazing Ving” as the show’s pilot won in national TV ratings and beat its rival program last Sunday (July 23).
Avid fans showed their support for the breakout child star’s first lead role in a series as the show hit a national TV rating of 28.8%, versus “Daig ka ng Lola Ko” that only got 18.5%, according to data from Kantar Media. It was also a trending topic online as the program’s official hashtag #WansaAmazingVing received thousands of tweets from netizens.
In the show’s episode last Sunday, viewers were introduced to the loving and kind-hearted teenager Ving, who showed respect and helped the people around him. But he immediately faced challenges after Reptilya (Bianca Manalo) killed his mother Soffy (Carmi Martin) in their encounter with the monster as they were heading to an outreach program. He was also put in danger but was saved by the powerful superhero Super Bing (Ellen Adarna), who gave him another chance at life.
Now that Ving and Super Bing’s paths have finally crossed, he is now one step away from fulfilling his dream of becoming a superhero. When Super Bing gets beaten by her mortal nemesis Reptilya, the superhero will hand over her magical stone to Ving.
What will happen now that Ving’s mother is gone? Can Ving beat Reptilya and stop her evil plans? What more challenges will he face as Super Ving?
