During the wedding of Rep. Alfred Vargas and wife Yasmine Espiritu, Kris Aquino and talent manager Lolit Solis met as they were both sponsors of the said wedding. Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte was also with them as part of the entourage.
Lolit Solis took the opportunity to tease Kris and said: “Kris, I heard you’re running for mayor. My Mayor in Quezon Cit is Joy Belmonte, I am telling you now.”
Kris was caught of guard by Lolit’s remarks. She replied with: “Ah, of course.”
Lolit Solis shared the same story on her Instagram account later that night. This time, Kris Aquino made a comment on Lolit’s post where she clarified that she will not run for any position in 2019.
According to Kris, politics is not part of her plans. She wrote: “I’m building my food and digital empire. I really do want to work with you [Lolit Solis] on TV or radio.”
Before she gets teased again with the incumbent mayor of Quezon City who was rumored to be her boyfriend, Kris said: “I didn’t look at the QC Mayor [Herbert Bautista, who was also part of the wedding], neither did he attempt to say hello to me–it is BEST this way.”
