Former “Wowowin” TV host, Super Tekla was recently axed from the said show allegedly because he’s reportedly back into gambling addiction and also because he’s rumored to be using illegal drugs.
But in an exclusive interview with Nelson Canlas of GMA News “24 Oras,” Super Tekla vehemently denied those accusations.
Super Tekla explained: “Nagbi-bingo ako. I never thought na it’s considered na pala as gambling. Kasi may fundraising naman yung mga bingo di ba?”
He admitted that with regards to the use of illegal drugs, for him, it’s a case of ‘been there, done that.” He doesn’t deny the fact that he’s been a user in the past. But whatever lessons he’s learned from those times will forever ingrained in his mind.
He says he finds no reason why he’d go back to those dark moments in his life “Kasi alam mo ba ang taong nagda-drugs, intoxicated ka, lutang ang isip mo, lahat ‘yung pinagdaanan ko na dati at wala akong interes na balikan pa,” said Super Tekla.
He admits he feels sad that he’s been fired from “Wowowin.” But what’s nice about Super Tekla, he accepts reprimand easily. His mindset was, maybe it was God’s way of giving him a ‘wake up call.’ He knew he had to turn his ways and change or improve something on himself.
He also had a message to the netizens who would bash him online and accusing him of every issue thrown at him: “Suutin niyo muna yung sapatos ko para malaman niyo kung ano yung pinagdaraanan ko,” he said.
What’s best about Tekla’s attitude is his humility. He didn’t had a grudge on Revillame or the show itself. He acknowledges that the show was able to help him in a lot of ways, especially when it comes to financial aspect. He says he will be forever grateful because he wouldn’t be where he is now, he wouldn’t be recognized by many if it wasn’t for “Wowowin.”
Super Tekla knows just too well the value of the word gratitude. And although he misses the show, Super Tekla knows that his life must go on. “Mas madaling makapagsimulang muli, salamat sa “Wowowin.” Maraming mabuting ibinigay ‘yung show sa akin. Hindi ko ‘yun basta kalilimutan.”
