Aside from movies and television, Paulo Avelino entered making a musical film. The actor auditioned as the lead character in “Ang Larawan,” an official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival.
Paulo also added that he usually auditions for films. Moreover, he mentioned the films he auditioned for.
“Lahat ng pelikulang pinapasukan ko, nag-audition ako. Sa Goyo nag-audition ako, sa Larawan nag-audition ako.”
Paulo indicated that he loves the feeling of auditioning for roles.
“Maganda kasi ‘yung makakapasok ka sa pelikula dahil trinabaho mo, dahil pinili ka, hindi dahil sikat ka o ano man.”
He also added that whenever he auditions, it humbles him.
“Pag nag-a-audition ka, parang nagiging grounded ka eh. It humbles you, parang paalala rin sa sarili mo na, ‘Uy! Aktor at huwag kang umastang kung sino.’ Kasi you have to start again.”
Furthermore, he summed that actors shouldn’t feel unconcerned when it comes to landing a role.
“Kapag nagsisimula ka ulit sa baba at parang hindi ka sigurado kung makukuha ka o hindi. Parang realization na dapat hindi ka makampante. Kasi marami ring magagaling.”
