After his controversial new year meltdown, Senator Win Gatchalian blamed netizens for his awkward reaction.
In a conversation with online news company Rappler, Gatchalian admitted that it was he who wrote those tweets. However, the Senator defended his actions by saying it was brought about by annoyance to people who kept criticizing him.
“Daming nang-iinis eh,“ he told Rappler.

Using his personal twitter account Gatchalian replied “Gago! Anong year yan??” when confronted by a netizen of his “resibo tweets”.
Gatchalian’s reply stemmed from his previous reply to Rappler CEO Maria Ressa regarding Liberal Party’s view of the coming year 2018 to which the Senator said our nation has already lost its soul 6 years ago.
But netizens are quick to point out Gatchalian’s flip-flopping moment and presented him with many of his previous tweet praising the previous administration.
That “resibo tweet” moment got Gatchalian irate leading to his awkward new year tweets.
