In the media launch of The Stepdaughters, Glydel Mercado revealed comparison on working in both networks. She also admitted how there had been too much effort in ABS-CBN Corporation.
She, then, continued to describe GMA Network with a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Glydel’s contract had already expired in 2017. However, she still has a show on the Kapuso network. She plays the mother of Megan Young in The Stepdaughters.
The said show became her 10th consecutive project. She took a break in 2011 after giving birth then, returned in 2012.
Talking to PEP.ph, Glydel described working in both networks. She also mentioned how she feels more comfortable with the executive producers (EPs) of the Kapuso network now.
“Kasi, parang mas homey. Mas homey yung feeling ko, sa mga staff, EPs. Actually karamihan ng EP dito, kaibigan ko, so mas at home ako.”
Glydel continued to explain that she doesn’t want to get stressed anymore she would remain in GMA Network’s relaxed environment.
“Gusto ko rin gumawa doon. Pero parang dito, mas relaxed, eh. Mas relaxed yung feeling kahit mabibigat yung eksena. Mas relaxed yung dating. Doon talaga kasi kailangan paulit-ulit, which is okay naman dahil maganda yung quality. Pero mas gusto ko yung ganito na lang, kasi relaxed, kasi tumatanda na tayo siyempre, mas gusto ko yung relaxed, ayoko noong nai-istress.”
Although, Glydel enjoyed her time in ABS-CBN Corporation, there still remained a huge difference.
“Nag-enjoy din naman ako sa ABS. Parang may difference lang na, doon kasi, hindi naman sa ano, pero sasabihin ko lang yung difference… Parang sobrang effort—as in, effort na effort talaga yung sa ABS.”
Glydel still feels thankful that GMA-7 continues to trust her with many projects.
“Naka-contract ako dito before pero di pa uli kami nagre-renew ng contract… Pero so far, thankful naman ako na kahit di pa ako under contract, kasi nag-lapse na yung contract ko last year, kahit kakatapos lang ng contract ko is marami pa rin silang binibigay na projects. So very thankful ako doon.”
