Mau Marcelo is back!
In February 22 episode of “Tawag Ng Tanghalan” segment of the noontime show “It’s Showtime,” the former Philippine Idol 2006 winner tried her luck as the Luzon contender. The 37-year old singer was announced as the defending champion of the said singing competition.

During her “Philippine Idol” journey, the half-Filipino, half-Puerto-Rican was able to take home one million pesos. She also got a one-million peso non-exclusive contract from ABC-5 or currently known as TV5, and a recording contract from Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

Prior to her participation on “Tawag Ng Tanghalan,” the “Soul Idol” already appeared on ABS-CBN and GMA Network’s shows like “ASAP” and “SOP Rules.”
In 20o7, Mau became the official representative of Philippines on Asian Idol in Indonesia where she lost to Singapore Idol Hady Mirza.

Meanwhile, Mau is set to face another set of contenders on “Tawag Ng Tanghalan to defend her throne.
