- UST Volleyball star EJ Laure finally broke her silence over pregnancy rumors with Hashtags member Bugoy Cariño.
- She clarified that the shoulder injury forced her to sit out the entire Season 80 tournament.
Rumors started to spread like fire that Hashtags member Bugoy Cariño impregnated her girlfriend EJ Laure. A Facebook named Hugot King posted a news that the former “Goin’ Bulilit” star allegedly got the UST volleyball star pregnant.
“Bugoy Cariño(15 y/old) nabuntis di umano ang UST volleyball player na si EJ Laure(19 y/old)? Eto ba ang dahilan kung bakit wala na sa Hashtag si Bugoy, at kung bakit wala this season si EJ Laure?” the caption read.
News came out before that two Hashtags members were removed for allegedly impregnating their respective girlfriends. Netizens speculated that one of them was Bugoy who got EJ pregnant.
Prior to the controversy, EJ already addressed the pregnancy rumors last February 3 during UAAP Season 80 game between the Golden Tigresses and the De La Salle University Lady Spikers at the Mall of Asia Arena. She made it clear that the fans’ speculation was false.
“Hindi naman totoo ‘yung sinasabi nila,” she stressed.
“(Pero) nasa kanila na lang ‘yun, kung ano ang gusto nilang sabihin. Kasi siyempre, tao din naman sila, may sarili silang opinyon,” she added.
As of this writing, the said rumor continues to circulate online. Star Magic, talent management who manages Bugoy’s career has not yet released a statement on this matter.
