A fiercer, bolder and sexier Glaiza de Castro stars in upcoming afternoon series, Contessa. Aside from its intriguing story, she also brings women empowerment into the mix.
After her successful portrayal of Pirena in the 2016 version of Encantadia, the versatile actress comes back as a bida-kontrabida.
Glaiza will also reunite with her Glazilda leading man, Geoff Eigenmann. Contessa will also star Jak Roberto, Gabby Eigenmann, Lauren Young, Tetchie Agbayani, Chanda Romero, Phytos Ramirez, Dominic Roco, Leandro Baldemor and Will Ashley.
The Contessa star also shared a bit about her character’s backstory.
“Nagsimula kasi siya na malinis naman ‘yung intention niya eh. Gusto niya lang mabuhay nang payapa. Gusto niya lang makatulong sa pamilya niya pero may mga bagay talaga at may mga tao na hahadlang para magawa niya o para makamit niya iyon.”
Glaiza also reflects her own empowered self in every role she portrays. Even with portraying antagonistic roles, she remains an empowered woman by today’s standards. Glaiza portrayed the tempting Heidi Fernandez in the 2012 Philippine adaptation of The Temptation of Wife. Her most empowering role yet turned out to be portraying Gregoria de Jesus in the 2013 ten-part dramatic series, Katipunan.
