Maine Mendoza can usually appear as one of Eat Bulaga‘s hosts who go from barangay to barangay for their segment, Juan for All All for Juan. She also usually hosts the segment with Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola.
In a recent barangay visit, a netizen had punched her. A video also went viral of the said incident.
In the said video, Maine went out of the Sugod Bahay winner’s house. Security also led her out of the house and cleared the way while getting out of the said barangay. However, a netizen had slipped away from their barricade.
The said netizen, then, punched Maine on her arm. She also let out a scream of shock and hurt. Another video of Maine’s reaction right after getting punched also went viral.
Some fans also reacted, replying to a user (@nettetomacruz) who uploaded the said video. One netizen demanded that situations like this remain a responsibility for Eat Bulaga‘s staff and crew.
“It is the responsibility of @EatBulaga to make sure that every one of their crew, stars are safe! Bago ba ito?!?”
When told that the video was actually just recently, the said netizen also continued:
“Same old problem they cannot address properly!”
Another netizen gave the same demands on the Eat Bulaga staff. The said netizen also added another request for Alden Richards, Maine’s love team, to be in the segment, too.
“I hope @EatBulaga staff will address this serious matter. Di sapat yung security na ibinigay for her. I suggest na mas maganda kung kasama na si Alden sa barangay. Aside from the security, mas magkaroon ng feeling of protection pag naroon ang kanyang love team.”
Another netizen also demanded more security for Maine. The said netizen acknowledged that this won’t be the first time that Maine will get hurt while on location.
“Hindi na talaga maganda. Sana may briefing din sa mga tanod ng brgy na gagawan ng JFA AFJ kc they can help beef up the Security team provided by EB. This is not the first time nasaktan c Maine.”
Another netizen said that the person who punched Maine certainly wasn’t an excited fan. They also wished that the person would be rightfully punished for his or her own doing.
“Nakakainit ng ulo kung sino man yan humalbot kay Maine. Sana hinuli nila yan para maparusahan dahil di ako nanniwala na excited fan lang yon.”
They also added the reaction of Paolo who appears regularly in the segment.
“Ung reaksyon ni Paolo parang gustong mang upak, nakatingin pa doon sa direksyon ng nanakit kay Maine, hinawakan na lang nung isang bouncer.”
