“Contessa” actor Jak Roberto believed that his abs exposure on television could actually help his show get higher ratings.
During the promo presscon for his new drama series, Jak proudly revealed that he would have a scene in a swimming pool whenever ratings would go down.
“Basta bumababa ang ratings namin ang kasunod na eksena sa swimming pool.”
This was seen in his previous guestings and shows particularly in “Meant To Be.” In that show, Jak was given the title ‘Pambansang Abs,’ a no-brainer title for a Kapuso star.
If his abs have some effect on the ratings of his previous shows, unfortunately, on “Contessa” on its pilot pisode, the show got low ratings from providers Kantar Media and AGB Nielsen.
During the pilot episode, Jak proudly flaunted his abs on the show’s pilot as he did some target shooting at a row of empty aluminum cans.
In the AGB Nielsen NUTAM, the Kapuso revenge drama got a rating of 5.2% while its counterpart show “It’s Showtime” on ABS-CBN earned a rating of 5.9%. Meanwhile in Kantar Media, “Contessa” got a rating of 11.1% while the Kapamilya noontime show earned a rating of 18.9%. “It’s Showtime” has an advantage of 0.7% in NUTAM and 7.8% in Kantar Media.
Will we see more of Jak’s abs in the future episodes of “Contessa?” What more can Jak do to help his afternoon show from failing ratings? We’ll see…
