ABS-CBN Executive and Director Lauren Dyogi recently launched his YouTube channel with a vlog. In the vlog, he also revealed that Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza had auditioned for Kapamilya talent search Pinoy Big Brother.
Aside from Maine, he also added that Nadine Lustre had auditioned for the same talent search.
Direk Lauren admitted that missing out on Maine and Nadine was a “bad call” from his part. Maine had auditioned as a contestant for Pinoy Big Brother 737 in June 2015.
The following month, July 2015, Eat Bulaga introduced Maine as Yaya Dub. She then had a phenomenal rise into fame through Eat Bulaga‘s Kalyeserye and her love team with Alden Richards, AlDub.
Direk Lauren titled the said YouTube video as a question, “Vlog 1: Am I Big Brother?”
“Siyempre, isang tao lang ako. Marami pang ibang opportunities o avenues para sumikat. Marami na akong misses in the past. Maraming nag-audition sa akin na hindi ko napansin pero sikat na sila ngayon.”
Direk Lauren also personally interviewed Maine in her audition as she introduced herself.
“I’m Maine Mendoza, I’m 20 years old, I took up Culinary Arts at La Salle College of St. Benilde. I’m working at our family business and I do dubsmash videos.”
Direk Lauren also asked, “What’s your family business?” Then, Maine answered:
“Shell po, Shell… oil business and gasoline stations.”
On the other hand, Direk Lauren had shown Nadine’s audition video for Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010. She now signed under Viva Artists Agency and Viva Films.
Ironically, Nadine’s onscreen and real-life boyfriend remains the grand winner of the said talent search season, James Reid.
