Clad in canary yellow gown, Kris Aquino attended the world premiere of Crazy Rich Asians. She, however, was not seen in group photos and already explained why.
She, then, called out Pilipino STAR Ngayon for belittling her non-inclusion in the said photos.

In a Twitter post, Kris hoped that next time they take a jab at her, there would be more subtlety.
“Fyi po sa pamilyang nagpapatakbo ng @pilstarngayon no need akong i-down. Kakapirma today ng 2 year contract w/ P&G- may no political participation clause. So safe na safe ang QC. P.S. next time a little more subtlety- halata tuloy na insecure. #lovelovelove”

Joy Belmonte apologizes
In a lengthy Facebook post, Joy Belmonte reacted to Kris’ tweet. She said she had yet to see or read the article with the headline, “Kris nilaglag sa pictorial sa leading newspapers at website sa US!” She also apologized to Kris if the article had offended her in any way. Joy expressed her happiness for the success Kris has achieved.
“A friend sent me this Tweet from Kris Aquino and she is obviously referring to my family and me being insecure of her. I apologise profusely to Kris for whatever it is that offended her. Am still trying to find the article she is referring to because I haven’t read it, and I’m sorry too that she thinks I have something to do with it,or that whatever squabble she may have with the reporter that wrote the offending article has something to do with me.
For the record, I do not know what she is talking about but I apologise for any offence taken by her. And i still remain eternally grateful to her for having endorsed me in a video which i posted months ago; and even if she is angry with me for whatever reason, i hope she remembers that my mother and hers were best friends and that my mother started the Philippine Star to support hers in 1986. I pray no issue will get in the way of the years of friendship our families shared. And i remain happy for all the success the Lord has blessed her with.”

Kris explains
A netizen with the Instagram handle, @instagreatpaolo, asked why Kris wasn’t in any cast group photos.
“May I ask why you were not in group photo with the other cast members @krisaquino? I saw @scmpnews coverage; it would have been even great.”
Kris replied and explained how she felt shy and was already enjoying her chat with other people inside the theater.
“because nahiya naman akong umepal & it was so nice to chat w/ the family of Mr. Emmerich & the rest of the Filipinos inside.”
