Gelli de Belen is now back at GMA Network, playing one of the lead roles in Ika-5 Utos. The network is where she did a long running daytime talk show, Sis. She hosted the said show with her sister Janice de Belen and another Kapuso star Carmina Villaroel.

During the press conference, Gelli expressed how good she felt about coming back to GMA. She loved how she can actually work with her niece Inah de Belen in the series.
“It’s good to be back. I’m so thankful they welcomed me back warmly. At katrabaho ko pa rito ang niece ko, si Inah (de Belen). And I get to work again with Director Laurice Guillen na siyang very first director ko. I was only 4 years old when I appeared in my first movie, ‘Kasal,’ first directorial job ni Direk Laurice. Flower girl ako sa kasal. 1980 ‘yun, then we worked together again in ‘Apoy sa Puso’ for Viva with Dawn Zulueta in 1992 na, tapos ngayon lang ulit.”
Gelli shared that she loved the material which made her immediately say yes to the project.
“Napakaganda ng material. So, when they offered it to me, yes agad ako. Very complicated ang emotions involved in all the characters kaya sure akong susubaybayan na naman ito ng mga tao.”
Ika-5 Utos.
One of Direk Laurice’s biggest hits is Ika-6 Na Utos and occupying the same time slot will be Ika-5 Utos. The series will replace Contessa on September 10, Monday right after Eat Bulaga. The show has a powerhouse cast led by three strong women: Geli as Kelly, Jean Garcia as Eloisa and Valerie Concepcion as Clarisse.
Their story will start with friendship and end with betrayal. Eloisa is married to Angelo (Neil Ryan Sese) and they have a son, Jeffrey (Jeric Gonzales). Clarisse, on the other hand, is married to Nardo (Tonton Gutierrez). They have three children: Leo (Kiko Rodriguez), Francis (Migo Adecer) and Candy (Klea Pineda). Kelly is married to Benjie (Antonio Aquitania) and they have a son, Carlo (Jake Vargas). Inah portrays Daniella, Carlo’s battered girlfriend.
The first conflict starts when Eloisa and Nardo found out that their partners Angelo and Clarisse are having an affair. During a confrontation, Clarisse accidentally kills Angelo. The second conflict continues as Carlo punishes Leo during a hazing incident where the latter was killed. The punishment was caused after Carlo saw Leo with Daniella. Jeffrey, however, was the one who gets accused for Leo’s demise.
