In a press conference for the second book of Inday Will Always Love You, Tekla revealed that he has a beauty queen crush whose name starts with the letter A. The members of the press speculated that it may be Miss Universe 2013 third runner up Ariella Arida.
“Yes, crush ko iyon! Pero, that was before. Ang layo ng agwat namin, langit lupa.”

Tekla is in love with a woman and has plans to marry her someday.
“Of course, medyo malayo pa kasi medyo hindi pa siya ganun ka-mature yung isip niya. Kumbaga, hindi pa siya prepared sa ganung stage ng buhay, so sinasabayan ko na lang hanggang sa ready na siya.”
He also pointed out that his girlfriend and their child are the reasons why he works so hard.
“Lahat naman tayo umiibig, ‘no? Masarap kaya magmahal at saka ang sarap magtrabaho kapag inspired ka. May rason ka mag-work.”
