The ever-popular boyband returns to the Philippines to celebrate their 20th anniversary.
The band started in 1998. Since the Philippines is like the Ballad capital of the world, their music immediately captured the heart of the Filipinos.
The band is composed of four gentlemen with a true bard’s voice namely Paul Marazzi, Christian Ingerbrigsten, Mark Red, and Ben Adams.
A1: The 20th Anniversary Concert was held at the New Frontier Theatre in Cubao for two days on October 21 and 22.
The band kicked off the concert with the song “Same Old Brand New You” from the album “The A List.”
They also performed their hit and iconic songs ‘Like A Rose,’ ‘Heaven By Your Side,’ ‘Walking in the Rain,’ and ‘Everytime.’
The audience can’t help but cheer and wave their hands along with the tunes all night.
As for me, well, I can only remember the fun times when they first hit the charts. I remember borrowing my classmate’s “Song Hits” just to copy the lyrics of their song. I even bought a poster and placed it behind my bedroom door. Oh God, I almost cried (sob).

A1 covered all of their hit songs during the concert. This is probably the most nostalgic concert of 2018, at least for 90’s kids and non-millennials.
They even made up a segment titled “The Songs We Never Did” – pleasing the fans with a medley of A1 songs that they can’t perform in full during the concert due to the limited time. Thus, the title suggests.
The band will also make a tour around the Philippines. They will perform in Davao on October 23 at the SMX Convention Center and in Cebu on October 25 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino.
So, if you’re in Davao and Cebu City, or near the area, don’t miss the chance to listen to A1 once more and reminisce the good old days.
