After running for more than three months (3 months = 1 season/60 episodes), the end is near for GMA Network’s banner teleserye ‘Victor Magtanggol’.

On Twitter she said, “GETTING A BIT EMO bec I just finished reading the latest script and there are so many revelations!!!! And I’m thinking, ito na yung mga matagal na hinihintay!!! Super exciting!! Jun Lalin on his Pang Masa article on November 3, he confirmed that the Alden Richards-starrer is going to end in two weeks’ time.
“Confirmed, sa November 19 ang pilot telecast ng Cain at Abel ng GMA 7, kaya sa November 16 talaga ang finale episode ng Victor Magtanggol ni Alden Richards.”
Controversies surrounding ‘Victor Magtanggol’.
The controversial Kapuso teleserye has a rough start. Even before the show premiered on television, ‘Victor Magtanggol’ has been accused of copying elements from Marvel’s ‘Thor’ character.
During its promotions, Richards told GMA News that its special effects were ‘two levels higher’ than what people are used to seeing on local television. Judging by the viral clips uploaded by GMA Network’s social media pages, it seems like Richards’ statement is a case of ‘over-promising’ but ‘under-delivering’.
The Kapuso fantaserye led by Richards continued to lose against ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’.
According to latest NUTAM survey, “‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ continues to dominate ‘Victor Magtanggol’. The Kapamilya top-rating teleserye had 15.9% on October 8, Monday while ‘Victor Magtanggol’ had 9.5%.
“‘Cain at Abel’ is now GMA Network’s bet to rival top-rating ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’.”
Since two weeks ago, GMA Network has started to promote its upcoming series, ‘Cain at Abel’. These early promotion further confirmed speculations that ‘Victor Magtanggol’ would end very soon.
On Lalin’s Pang Masa column, he revealed that GMA Network management decided to schedule the press launch six days before its premiere, “Ginawa na ring November 13 ang press launch ng ‘Cain at Abel’ para mas mabugbug ang publicity nito.”
