ABS-CBN Films and Cr8 Productions will collaborate to remake of the 90’s film, Magic Temple. The movie is under a script development and no actors have been identified to be part of the cast yet.
ABS-CBN Films and Cr8 Productions signed a six-picture deal at the Singapore Media Festival.

Magic Temple is a 1996 adventure film directed by Peque Gallaga who also wrote the story with Lore Reyes and Erik Matti. It is notable for winning all of the 14 nominations including the Best Film at the 1996 Metro Manila Film Festival.

The magical world of Samadhi was threatened by the evil forces of Ravenal (Jackie Lou Blanco). Sifu (Jun Urbano) sends out three teenage boys: Jubal (Jason Salcedo), Sambag (Junell Hernando) and Omar (Marc Solis) on a journey to the Magic Temple. The three boys have their own unique powers and battled the threat to the world of Samadhi.
KathNiel to remake Magic Temple?
In 2013, Star Cinema planned to do the remake of the film which was supposed to star Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. They planned on doing a Magic Temple series with five movies. This, however, didn’t push through.
ABS-CBN restored Magic Temple.
ABS-CBN’s Film Restoration Project partnered with Powerplant Cinemas for REELive the Classics. They digitally restored and remastered Magic Temple on its 20th anniversary in 2016.
As of 2011, ABS-CBN Film Archives has already restored 120 films.
