ABS-CBN, producer of the controversial reality show ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ (PBB), issued a public apology on Thursday (March 7) for what critics denounced as inappropriate when two housemates were making out while the cameras were on them and which made the other housemates uncomfortable.
On the program’s official social media pages this afternoon, the show’s producers said that while the task was aimed at “strengthening the bond of the housemates,“ they were offering their apology to those who were offended by the controversial LouDre kiss.
“Pinoy Big Brother Otso apologizes to the viewers who may have been offended by scenes in the 4th of March 2019 episode, showing the housemates having a pool party.
The party was meant to strengthen the bond of the housemates and was not intended to offend the viewers’ sensibilities.
As a reality show, PBB Otso shall continue to offer its viewers lessons through real-life experiences of the housemates.”

Housemates Andre Brouillette and Lou Yanong, who previously admitted having romantic feelings for each other, were shown kissing several times after having consumed alcohol during a pool party. During their all-adult swimming/drinking party for the show, Lou and Andre shared several kisses while they were under the influence of alcohol. The kisses happened at the Big Brother house’s garden and while they were in the pool. Another housemate, Mary Grace Lagos, seeing that the situation might get out of hand, eventually put a stop to it.
Soon after, Lou and Andre talked about what happened, with Andre saying that he didn’t remember much of it. Andre said, “I just want to say sorry. I’m sorry for going out of hand with it, it was too much. You’re okay [right]? Not uncomfortable or anything?” Both Andre and Lou apologized to each other, to the audience, and to their fellow housemates for the “incident” and for having too much to drink.
