Dani Barretto decided to speak up about the cheating allegations involving sister Julia Barretto.
It was on July 21, Sunday, when an Instagram post about Julia and Gerald Anderson’s rumored relationship circulated on the internet. The photo in the post showed the two Between Maybes stars together at Rayver Cruz’s 30th birthday celebration last July 20 at Revel in BGC.
Meanwhile, celebrities and netizens were bothered by the cryptic Instagram post made by Bea Alonzo,
Gerald’s girlfriend of three years.
She posted a black photo with a quote that read, “’You can’t make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it’s not a mistake anymore, it’s a choice.’ ENOUGH.”
Though she didn’t mention any names, netizens speculated that she was talking about her failing relationship with Gerald.
Several celebrities showed sympathy towards the Eerie star by giving her comforting words. Gretchen Barreto, Julia’s aunt, also showed support for her former Magkaribal co-star.
Bea’s post gave hints about the alleged affair of Julia and her boyfriend Gerald.
In the midst of the accusations faced by Julia, Dani did not hold back anymore and decided to defend her sister a day after the rumors spread.
She clarified that the viral photo showed nothing wrong about Julia and Gerald and said they were only having a conversation in the said photo.

“Nag-usap lang sa party, at may chismosang nag-decide mag-picture, cheating na agad? Bawal ang ‘hi’ sa isa’t isa, bawal magkamustahan? Cheating na agad ‘yun?! They worked together!! Of course, they’re friends! Pati ‘yun bawal na din?” Dani wrote on Twitter.
Another netizen replied to Dani pointing out how the photos’ uploader claimed Julia and Anderson were spotted inside one car.
“Of course she will say that!!! Her photos can’t back up her allegations! Have you seen the photos? There is nothing wrong with them. It is just two people talking. What is so wrong about that?” she fired back.
Earlier, Dani and Julia’s mother Marjorie Barretto said she is planning to take legal action against the Instagram user who uploaded the photos.
She defended Julia and said that the viral photo was “harmless.” She also reiterated that the two Between Maybes stars are just friends.
