Newest Kapuso actor Anjo Damiles to be part of ‘Madrasta’

Newest Kapuso actor Anjo Damiles will be part of the upcoming drama series of GMA-7. With a working title Madrasta, Damiles is set to work with headliners Arra San Agustin, Juancho Trivino, and Thea Tolentino.

It was on July 15 when the former Kapamilya star inked an exclusive contract with GMA Artist Center. In just almost a week, the network already gave him his first Kapuso project.

In an exclusive interview with the actor stated: “Sobrang blessed and happy po kasi ilang araw pa lang ako rito sa GMA nabigyan po agad ako ng proyekto and siyempre thankful na din po.

“Gagawin ko po lahat ng best ko para hindi ko mabigo ang mga expectations ng mga viewers and supporters at sa lahat ng ibato sa ‘kin na eksena, gagalingan ko talaga,” he continued.

Joseph Roland Beltran Damiles, popularly known as “Anjo Damiles” was a talent of Star Magic before he transferred to GMA Artist Center. In his five years stay with ABS-CBN, the actor appeared in several TV programs including Forevermore (2014), Doble Kara (2015), La Luna Sangre (2017), Wansapanataym, Ipaglaban Mo, and Maalaala Mo Kaya. 

His character as Andrew “Andy” Delgado in the series Doble Kara opposite Julia Montes was considered as his big break in the showbiz industry.

Madrasta is the upcoming afternoon drama series of GMA Network and the taping for the said series has already begun.

Madrasta also marks the comeback of Almira Muhlach to the Kapuso Network. The show is also the replacement project of Tolentino after her other project, Rosang Agimat, was shelved. The upcoming show will also be the first time for San Agustin and Trivino to be the lead stars in a series.

No airing date has been set as of this writing.

Other cast members include Manilyn Reynes, Gladys Reyes, Phytos Ramirez, Isabelle De Leon, and Divine.
