- Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda is back after the band’s concert back in 2013
- Sharing his latest tracks from his solo album, Mike showcases a variety of new songs
- Fans happy to hear songs from Linkin Park which also gives tribute to the late Chester Bennington
It has been more than six years since the last concert of Linkin Park in the country, which was never followed due to the untimely passing of frontman Chester Bennington. This made a huge impact on the band, which was then releasing new singles, including the cancellation of several concert schedules. Ever since then, the band has gone into a state of mourning.

One of the most affected by Bennington’s death was co-frontman Mike Shinoda which led him to explore making music outside of Linkin Park. From their beginnings with loud and dark songs, they also opened up to songs dealing with struggles, hope, depression, and sometimes politics.
Now that the band is on hiatus, Mike Shinoda wants to continue making songs that would also make Chester proud. He launched the album Post Traumatic.
He came back recently to Manila with the Post Traumatic Tour held at the New Frontier Theater last September 6. Produced by Insignia Productions, the tour made stops on Asian cities like Taipei and Jakarta.

Also joining the tour is Don Broco, a band from Bedford, England. It was the band’s first time in Manila and they were very happy with the warm welcome that they got from the concertgoers. They played their hits which included their latest single “T-shirt Song”.
It was a flash of nostalgia when Mike Shinoda entered the stage. His first song “Welcome” from his band Fort Minor was fitting for an entrance which also showed his skills as a musician. The setlist was a mix of new songs from his album Post Traumatic like “Sorry For Now,” “Crossing The Line,” and “Hold It Together” to name a few .
But the crowd went wild as he also performed Linkin Park tracks like “Road Untraveled,” “Numb,” “Papercut,” and “In The End.” At some point, Don Broco also reappeared on stage to give that complete band experience with frontman Rob Damiani covering the vocals of Bennington. He also mingled with the crowd on his final song “Running From My Shadow” which hyped up the audience as he makes his exit from the stage.

The Post Traumatic Tour had one more stop at Nagoya on September 8 for the WIRED Music Festival. Just a day before the concert, Mike Shinoda also released his music video for the song “Worlds On Fire,” which is a fully animated in cooperation with Venturia Animation Studios.
