- Cara X Jagger suffered disappointing box office results
Ruru Madrid and Jasmine Curtis-Smith’s movie Cara x Jagger failed to attract enough moviegoers on its first day of showing.
The movie premiered last November 6 and according to its first-day gross, the movie only generated 150 thousand in box office receipts.
Aside from the underwhelming box office result, the movie was pulled out of theaters from 60 plus venues to just four in Metro Manila.
Cara X Jagger is a film about a woman with a super sharp memory and a man with amnesia. Cara played by Jasmine Curtis-Smith is Jagger’s ex-girlfriend who has a super sharp memory. Jagger played by Ruru Madrid, on the other hand, has amnesia.
Cara was eventually was hired by the latter’s grandfather to take care of him and make him remember about his past.
Produced by APT Entertainment and Cignal Entertainment, the movie is directed by Ice Idanan.

So we watched #CaraXJagger last night. Loved it! Not your typical Filipino movie. I prefer indie films because they’re more daring with new themes (or storylines—di ko alam best term!). Lungkot lang kasi mawawala na yata sa cinemas. Suportahan naman natin ang mga ganito.

Meanwhile, apart from its depressing box office result, the movie was also engulfed by controversy involving its lead star Ruru Madrid and his real-life partner Bianca Umali.
Many are saying that Bianca’s presence at the premiere night was a wrong move since they are still hiding the real status of their relationship. According to some, Ruru and Bianca agreed that Bianca will not go to the premiere night to avoid rumors about their relationship.
But Bianca showed up anyway to surprise Ruru which eventually led to an incident at the SM MegaMall parking lot after the premiere night.
