It seems that Vice Ganda’s lucky charm and real-life boyfriend Ion Perez may not have been enough to attract more moviegoers to watch their Metro Manila Film Festival 2019 entry The Mall The Merrier.
From last year’s P600 million earnings, Vice is now down to P250 million only.
Aga Muhlach may not have won the Best Actor award, but his movie Miracle in Cell No. 7 has accomplished a major feat by dislodging the Vice Ganda comedy from the number one spot in the box office.
Not bad for Aga’s MMFF comeback movie.
This may mean that people are done with the jokes of Vice Ganda and the punchlines of Vic Sotto (his movie Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity is in fourth place) which they see every day on their respective noontime shows It’s Showtime and Eat Bulaga.
Audiences are now possibly more inclined to see actors like Aga who have occasional projects only.
