John Arcilla posts metaphorical tweets to convey sentiments on current crisis

True to his character in the hit bio epic Heneral Luna, Kapamilya actor John Arcilla shared his sentiments on the current situation of the country through metaphoric tweets.

In his first tweet, Arcilla taunted people who continue to be blind to all the failures of the government to address the crisis.

He also added that in this time of crisis where fear and hunger consume the citizens, what we need is a leader who inspires and unites and not someone who will add to the fear and division.

And just like a line in his film Heneral Luna, Arcilla asked who traitor is.

“Circa 1899, anong petsa na? Sino ang taksil?”

Arcilla is just one of the growing number of Pinoy artists who are speaking out.

Several celebrities recently made a strong stand against the government after news came out that the NBI had summoned Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for allegedly violating some provisions in the Bayanihan act.

Angel Locsin, Jodi Sta.Maria, Angelica Panganiban, Kim Chiu, Zsa Zsa Padilla, and others took to Twitter to share their disgust with what is currently happening in the country.

— Angel Locsin (@143redangel) April 1, 2020

Si Vico Sotto talaga?! Bakit NBI? Ano meron? Eh yung iba? 😳 Nakakapanghina na minsan yung mga desisyon nyo.

— Jodi Sta.Maria (@JodiStaMaria) April 1, 2020

Like, seriously? Is it because he makes everyone else look bad at their supposed job?! Unbelievable. Pwede ba kayong magpaka busy sa ibang bagay?! Busy si Mayor. Tantanan nyo naman sya, please! Dami pa nyang gagawin. #OnlyInThePhils #ProtectVico pic.twitter.com/erOaKIpfHZ

— zsa zsa padilla (@zsazsapadilla) April 1, 2020

Like what?????!!!!

— kim chiu (@prinsesachinita) April 1, 2020

Wala silang mapag initan. Si mayor vico talaga? Kung sino pa may natutulong at maayos na sistema, siya pa kakasuhan? HANEP! So far kasi yun palang nagagawa niya. Ikalat ang virus. Mapapamura ka na lang pala talaga.

— Angelica Panganiban (@angelica_114) April 1, 2020

More and more celebrities are also getting disgruntled with how the government is responding to the COVID-19 crisis especially the uncalled for pronouncements of the President.

Please just stop with the insults, jabs and disrespectful remarks on national televion and just LEAD— comfort us during these scary times and reassure us. We want to support you and back you up but you make it so hard for people to do that.

— Lauren Young (@loyoung) April 3, 2020

positive na sukang suka na sa government. good people are outnumbered.

— Maris Racal (@MissMarisRacal) April 1, 2020

Quarantine your mouth? Open your eyes! Bullying on national television is also not helping.

Hinga. Kontrol. May kalalagyan 'tong tapang natin.

Kapit.
