  • She realized that doing something with knowledge is much more important than the grades reflected on the report card.
  • People who succeed in life are those think out of the box and come out with unique concepts and innovations.

Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 Shamcey Supsup shared her realizations that having good grades on a report card does not guarantee success.

In her Instagram post, she posted her transcript record in college with a caption:

“I grew up to be really ‘grade conscious’ or ‘GC’ for short. It didn’t matter if I really learned anything as long as I get the grade, I was fine 😝”

“But now, I am more than certain that grades are not everything. Grades should be a byproduct of learning. And what you do with that knowledge is MUCH more important than what is on your report card…”

Shamcey admitted that she does not pay much attention to the learning she has in class as long she had good grades. But now, she realized that doing something with knowledge is much more important than the grades reflected on the report card.

A study showed that more successful people have not always had high grades, 41% of the self-made millionaires were ‘B’ students, 29% were ‘C’ and students and 21% were ‘A’ students.

GPA does not measure a person’s ability to think outside of the box and solve problems which successful people possess to achieve their goals. These are important qualities that an individual must have to succeed in life.

Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to start Microsoft. The late Steve Jobs who co-founded Apple also dropped out of school.

People who succeed in life are those think out of the box and come out with unique concepts and innovations.
