Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber recently came out with a joint statement clarifying their relationship status. Maymay and Edward, also known as MayWard, make up one of the most popular love teams in the country today.
On the Instagram account of both Kapamilya actors, the onscreen partners talked to their avid followers who have been there for them since they began their team-up three years ago.
“Sa loob po ng tatlong taon na nandito ang Mayward, nakita niyo po at narinig niyo mula mismo sa aming dalawa ang tunay na nararamdaman namin para sa isa’t isa.”
“Masaya at masarap po sa pakiramdam ang idea ng isang romantic relationship, but as we go along our journey, we realize na hindi basta-basta lang to get into a relationship”

While asking for everyone’s understanding, Maymay and Edward said that they would continue to take care of each other as best friends and that they don’t need to rush into anything.
“Sa ilang taon naming pagsasama, sa trabaho man at sa personal, pareho po namin na-realize na sa estado ng buhay namin ngayon, we both are still very young and there is so much more we still want to achieve in our lives,” they said.
To end their statement, both of them clarified that they would still be working with each other, but that they would maintain their relationship as friends.
“Wala pong pagbabago. Kami pa din ang magkasama dahil there’s no one else we would rather work with than each other,” they said.

The Mayward love team started during their stint on Pinoy Big Brother. They’re known for their kwela attitudes and they love teasing with each other.
Last 2019, in an episode of Gandang Gabi Vice, Edward and Maymay were asked if they were in a relationship already. In which, Edward admitted that he was courting Maymay and waiting for her,
“I’m waiting for her response. Hinihintay ko ‘yung sagot niya.”
