Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has started distributing the cash assistance amounting to Php8,000.00 as part of the Pasig Supplemental Social Amelioration Program for constituents within his city.
Pasig is eyeing to provide supplemental SAP to almost 160,000 families including LGBTQ couples.
During his Facebook live session where Vico was giving out updates, he suddenly lost his cool when one of the viewers kept asking the same question.
To his dismay, Mayor Vico reiterated that everyone in Pasig City will receive the supplemental SAP including the constituents living in a condominium.
He said: “Hindi nga, gulo kausap. Kasasabi ko lang, lahat nga kasama eh, kung di man mamuti buhok ko dito. Hindi malalagpasan ang condo, kasama po ang condo sa supplemental SAP, hindi muna makinig.”

Moreover, Mayor Vico ensured that the qualifications for households will not also include traditional families, but also married couple without a child, solo parents, and even the LGBTQ parents with a child at home. This was also confirmed by the Pasig City Public Information Office when they published complete guidelines on their official page.
If one of the children of the property owner has his/her own family living under the same roof, they are still qualified to receive the Php8,000.00 supplemental SAP and they will be counted as two families in one home.
In addition to that, LGBTQ partners with a child at home are also qualified to receive the Pasig supplemental SAP and automatically considered as family.
To prevent any miscommunication, Mayor Vico also ensured that even owners and tenant in a condominium will receive Php8,000.00
He said: “Kasama po ang condo. Lahat po. Pag sinabi ko pong lahat, ibig sabihin lahat. Kasama po ang nangungupahan. Basta residente ng Pasig.”
Meanwhile, netizens praised Mayor Vico for his goodwill by considering LGBTQ partners as a family, and expressed their gratitude:
Just heard the good news that Mayor @VicoSotto included LGBT couples w/ children as "FAMILIES" in the guidelines for supplemental SAP in Pasig.
This is a big step in recognizing that LGBT families are no different from other families, even just in an LGU. Salamat, Pasig!!! 🌈💙

Pasig Mayor @VicoSotto considers LGBTQ couples with children as FAMILIES. Other cities will not do this because it opens a debate, but Vico did it because this pandemic affects everyone – regardless of their SOGIE.
Thank you, Vico for this huge step towards inclusion! pic.twitter.com/dFOUIWNx2X

When you’ve got a Mayor who’s woke and has the political will to follow through with deeds, you’ll be happy to see that LGBTQI partners with kids are in the list of qualified beneficiaries of Pasig’s Supplemental SAP. 🌈👨👨👦👩👩👦👩👩👧👨👨👧😍😊#Pasig #LGBTQI @VicoSotto @PasigInfo pic.twitter.com/z7IEHcNpRd
