SKY serves up some much-needed UFC action on television as the matches between Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira, and Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris’ air live on Fox Sports on SKYcable this May 14 (Thursday) and 17 (Sunday) respectively.
After the success of UFC 249, the heat goes on inside the octagon ring as ‘Lionheart’ Smith (33-14-0), who had a huge win over Alexander Gustafsson in his own city, still tries to prove his prowess after shifting to the light heavyweight ranks two years ago.
He will face Brazil’s finest, Teixeira (30 – 7 – 0), who enters this fight with a three-fight winning streak, one coming from a split decision vs. Nikita Krylov and two submission wins against Ion Cutelaba and Karl Roberson.
The winner of this match will still have a stronger chance of having a light heavyweight title opportunity while the loser will still be a threat in the said weight class.
Another exciting fight UFC fans have to watch for is the showdown between No. 8-ranked Overeem (45-18-0, 1 NC) and No. 9-ranked Harris (13 – 7 – 0 , 1NC).
Viewers are excited to see who will prevail as the winner has a closer edge in battling against the current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
Also known as “The Demolition Man,” Overeem is hungry for a win after being TKO-ed by Jairzinho Rozenstruik last December.
Meanwhile, “The Big Ticket” Harris is gunning for his third win after he successfully defeated both Alexey Oleynik and Sergey Spivak in the first round only.
