Celebrities called out House Deputy Speaker Rep. Rodante Marcoleta over his recycled allegations against ABS-CBN.
During the investigation, Marcoleta repeated accusations that had previously been hurled at the embattled media company, including alleged tax evasion, alleged violations of workers ‘ rights, and foreign ownership.

He particularly mentioned that ABS-CBN committed a litany of violations under the Constitution.
“ABS-CBN deliberately and with impunity violated the conditions of its legislative franchise, these allegations have been around for so long. They weren’t given attention. Why is that? Because people were scared of an influential network.”
ABS-CBN Global Head of Corp. Affairs & Strategic Nerissa Fernandez posted a photo of ABS-CBN statement’s on Gabby Lopez’s Citizenship,
“The #truth below. And if people persist in accusing & publishing this false, malicious & damaging statement that Mr. Lopez is not Filipino, they’re courting a public defamation lawsuit. #IbalikAngABSCBN”

Known Duterte critic Agot Isidro and ABS-CBN Entertainment Journalist MJ Felipe shared the same view, that the allegations being made against ABS-CBN are deliberately being repeated despite being already proven wrong to wear people down.
“Pansin ninyo, paulit-ulit ang binabatong mga issues? Hanggang mapagod at mag-give up na tayo. Yan ang gusto nila. Huwag tayong susuko. Never tayong susuko. #IbalikAngABSCBN”

At the hearing, Marcoleta also argued that ABS-CBN should no longer be permitted to return since broadcast franchises were restricted to 50 years,
Broadcast Journalist Karen Davila found it a strange argument,
“This is such a strange argument. Cong Marcoleta says ABSCBN has been operating more than 50 years & thats against the law. GMA7 TV was launched in 1961. So that means they’ve been operating 59 yrs. Is that against the law? Just a question.”
