Kapamilya star Albie Casino wasn’t able to hold back his emotions when the viral story of Joie Cruz, a daughter of a COVID-19 medical front liner who died of COVID-19, shared that her mother only got a hazard pay worth 7,000 pesos instead of 30,000 pesos.
On his Instagram account, the actor called out the people who bash actors who call out the incompetency of the government but who remain quiet when the government does something wrong.
“Galit na galit sila sakin at sa kapwa ko artista pero sa mag nanakaw wala silang paki 🤣🤣🤣”
He also quoted Tupac about oppression saying, “As the great prophet Tupac once said ‘When will I finally get to rest through this oppression? They punish the people that’s askin’ questions And those that possess steal from the ones without possessions.’”
This wasn’t the first time that Albie expressed his frustration. Recently the actor said that the Filipinos are too used to seeing government officials who loot from them instead of offering honest service to the people.
“We’re so used to corrupt officials that no one is really surprised about this news anymore. We expect our government to steal from us and don’t hold them accountable for promises they made during the election,” Casiño said.
He also didn’t miss mentioning President Rodrigo Duterte’s broken promises from the 2016 campaign.
“Drugs? Six months. EDSA? In five minutes. Jet ski with the flag? Oh, wait, he did promise to close ABS-CBN. Meron naman pala siyang natupad.”
Casiño also recalled how Duterte claimed that travel time between Cubao and Makati, which currently requires at least one hour on EDSA, could be reduced to five minutes.
“You just wait. Ayaw kong mag-ano. Things will improve. Maybe god willing December smooth sailing na,” he said in a television interview over Sonshine Media Network.
Netizens, on the other hand, sided with the actor’s sentiment over Joie Cruz’s experience.
