In an Instagram live broadcast, actress Angel Locsin confirmed that she was cheated on before.
During the online interview, host G3 San Diego and Angel recalled her previous teleserye, “The Legal Wife“. With this, the host asked, “Has anybody ever cheated on you?”.
The actress said yes, however, she refused to mention the name of his ex-boyfriend who cheated on her.
“Oo, na-experience ko na.”
The actress then advised women not to blame themselves once their partner has cheated on them.
“Wala naman sa itsura ‘yun. Karamihan ng mga kababaihan, kapag naloloko, sinisisi ‘yung sarili. Pero mali ‘yun. Kailangan ma-realize ng mga kababaihan na ang ganung gawain, hindi mo fault ‘yun. Hindi mo fault kung walang loyalty ‘yung isa,” the actress said.
“Totoo na sa isang problema, dalawang tao ‘yung involved pero sa kasalanan, isa na lang ‘yun. Kapag mali, mali pa rin ‘yun. Maraming babae ang nabubulag na ‘Ah baka kasi ganito, kasalanan ko kaya ako naloko.’ Pero kapag manloloko, manloloko talaga,” she added.
The actress then said that she used these painful experiences as her way to improve as an actress.
“Naa-appreciate ko na napagdaanan ko ‘yung ganung klaseng journey kasi nagagamit ko siya sa craft ko. Thank you for my sadness kasi dahil sa sadness na ‘yun, nagkaroon ng best actress award. And kahit paano nakatulong ako to uplift other women na may ganung same journey,” she said.
As she is currently engaged to film producer Neil Arce, she looked back on her previous relationships and heartbreaks and realized how petty they were.
“Kung dati halos pakamatay ka na sa pain, dadating ‘yung panahon na tatawanan mo na lang. Kapag nahanap mo ‘yung tao na para talaga sa ‘yo, mare-realize mo na how petty ‘yung mga pinagdaanan mo, ‘yung mga iniyak mo,” Angel said.
“Dati hindi ko naiintindihan ‘yun. Every time may nag-a-advise sa akin na ‘Wala, tatawanan mo lang iyan,’ naiinis ako. Sino ka para sabihin mong tatawanan, eh sobrang hurt na hurt ako? Pero totoo pala ‘yun,” she added.
Before being engaged to Neil, Angel had several relationships with showbiz men.
Angels’ first love was also the saddest as her first boyfriend, Miko Sotto passed away in 2003. Many netizens believe that if Miko were still alive, they would end up with each other.
After this heartbreak, she then had a relationship with Dennis Trillo who was her co-star in the GMA series Mulawin in 2004. However, their relationship did not last long but they kept a professional relationship as they have worked with each other after their break up.
Her most controversial relationship was when Angel started to date Oyo Boy Sotto who is the first cousin of her first love, Miko. After all the issues, the two separated due to lack of time for each other.
She dated Luis Manzano in 2008 and split in 2009. The next relationship of Angel started on social media as the Azkals captain Phil Younghusband asked her for a date which she refused at first but eventually said yes to. After about three years of being together, the actress confirmed that she and Phil broke up.
Five years after they first broke up, Luis and Angel started dating again but by January 2016, news circulated that the two broke up because of Luis’ current girlfriend Jessy Mendiola, which was disaffirmed by Luis. After this, Angel started to go out with Niel.
