Kapamilya stars Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber, also known as ‘MayWard, were lauded by netizens for their decision to register to vote in the 2022 elections.
Photos of the on-screen couple registering were shared by fellow Kapamilya artist Robi Domingo on his Instagram account.
Using the hashtags #MayWardRegistersToVote, #40MStrong, and #MasMaramiTayo, Robi posted the photos of MayWard.
“Dati sila ang binoboto niyo sa PBB. Ngayon sila naman ang boboto para sa kinabukasan. Ikaw, nakapag-register ka na ba? 🇵🇭,” he wrote.

The love team started out as housemates on the reality TV series Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 wherein viewers can vote to save them from eviction.
Maymay posted about their registration on her Instagram account saying, “Mag pa rehistro na para maka boto ✅🇵🇭 #40MStrong #KabataanPagasaNgBayan.”
Edward also posted photos of their registration and encouraged his fans to register as well so that people can exercise their rights to vote.
“Registered to vote 👍🏻✅ @iamrobidomingo @maymay Make sure you do too! Let’s change the course of our nation and write OUR OWN history 🕊 #WeTheYouth #40MStrong,” the young actor wrote.
The registrations for the upcoming 2022 elections are already ongoing. Many netizens especially Kapamilya celebrities are encouraging people to register in hopes of bringing a change in the government for the sake of the rejected franchise application of ABS-CBN.
Among the people who wished to renew the franchise bid of the Kapamilya network is former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV. He posted that the ABS-CBN franchise will be renewed if the opposition wins the 2022 presidential election.

Trillanes is an outspoken part of the opposition. He is one of the persistent people who shows dissent with Duterte’s administration. He was even banned from Davao—Duterte’s hometown— by city officials.
He has also been active in pointing out the shortcomings of the current administration especially during the ABS-CBN franchise issue which he believes is a curtailment of the freedom of speech.
On the other hand, many netizens praised the MayWard loveteam for registering for the 2022 elections.
