MANILA, September 2020 – Life is all about experiences and this September, WarnerMedia’s channels and apps present a selection of new movies and series that will make us tense with anxiety or get teary-eyed with emotion.

Laugh out loud or settle in comfortably for a quiet night in while watching these exhilarating and entertaining new content on Cartoon Network, Boomerang, HBO GO, HBO and Warner TV this September.

The much anticipated We Bare Bears: The Movie premieres on 12 September at 11am across various WarnerMedia channels and platforms including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, HBO GO, HBO, HBO Family, and Warner TV! Join Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear as they go on an epic road trip to Canada and tug at heartstrings as they recount their early years! Naturally, they meet new friends along the way and overcome various obstacles in their effort to stay together while evading the diabolical Agent Trout. Can’t get enough of the lovable bears? Catch four seasons of We Bare Bears series on HBO GO.

Other new blockbusters premiere on Saturdays at 9pm on HBO GO and HBO. Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix (Her) who won an Oscar® for portraying Batman’s nemesis in the movie, premieres on 19 September, while Jennifer Lopez (The Cell and Second Act, available on HBO GO) and Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asians, also on HBO GO) star as former strip club employees who turn the tables on their wealthy Wall Street clients in Hustlers, premiering on 26 September at 9pm.

A slew of brand-new Original content premieres this September on HBO GO. Ridley Scott’s 10-episode HBO Max Original series, Raised by Wolves premieres on 3 September exclusively on HBO GO. This foreboding, futuristic series centres on two androids tasked to protect a defenceless group of humans. For something closer to home, the HBO Asia Original film, The Garden of Evening Mists, based on the award-winning novel of the same name, premieres on 13 September at 10pm. This Golden Horse award-winning film draws viewers into the difficult post-war existence of the 1950s, told through the eyes of Malaysian actress Lee Sinje and Taiwanese actress-director-producer Sylvia Chang. The HBO Original psychological thriller, The Third Day, starring Jude Law and Naomie Harris, debuts the same time as the U.S. on 15 September at 9am. The six-part sees the two leads facing the fiercely traditional natives of a mysterious island off the British coast under different circumstances.

For something more light-hearted, catch Michael Carbonaro’s signature brand of humour and more candid reactions from unsuspecting victims in the sixth season of The Carbonaro Effect from 28 September at 8.10pm on Warner TV.

Animation fans can follow the brave and devoted Pat the Dog on his adventures to save his owner, Lola, from trouble, while fans of DC superheroes can watch young Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Supergirl, Batgirl and Katana join forces against a new school for supervillains in DC Superhero Girls: Super-Villain High premiering at 5 September at 9am and 19 September at 11am respectively on Boomerang.

Key titles premiering in September

Raised by Wolves

Three episodes premiere on Thursday, 3 September, exclusively on HBO GO with two new episodes airing every Thursday.

Directed by Ridley Scott, this science-fiction series features two androids, Mother and Father, raising human children on the colony of a distant world. Their peaceful existence is soon threatened by clashing beliefs, leading to conflict as the androids try to protect their colony. Stars Amanda Collin, Abubaker Salim and Travis Fimmel.

Pat the Dog

Premieres Saturday, 5 September at 9am on Boomerang

Most people see Pat as an ordinary dog, but he has the heart of a hero, especially when it comes to saving the day whenever his human Lola is in trouble.

We Bare Bears: The Movie

Premieres Saturday, 12 September at 11am on WarnerMedia platforms including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, HBO GO, HBO, HBO Family, and Warner TV.

The beloved trio of stacked bears must fight for the right to stay together, as they make an epic road-trip to evade the sinister agent who wishes to separate them forever.

The Garden of Evening Mists

Premieres Sunday, 13 September at 10pm on HBO GO and HBO.

Set in the 1950s, this award-winning movie received 9 nominations at the 56th Golden Horse Awards for its dramatic re-telling of post-war life through the eyes of Teoh Yun Ling. Stars Malaysian actress Lee Sinje, Taiwanese actress-director-producer Sylvia Chang and Hiroshi Abe.

The Third Day

Premieres same time as the U.S. on Tuesday, 15 September at 9am exclusively on HBO GO and HBO. New episodes air at the same time every Tuesday.

T his limited series is divided into two parts. In the first three episodes themed ‘Summer’, a man named Sam is drawn to a mysterious island populated by tradition-bound islanders whose secretive ways dredge up deeply-buried trauma. The second half, themed ‘Winter’ brings a strong-willed woman to the same shores where her presence triggers a cascade of conflict. Stars Jude Law and Naomi Harris.

DC Superhero Girls: Super-Villain High

Premieres on Saturday, 19 September at 11am on Boomerang.

Even superheroes were teens once, and so were supervillains! But when an even bigger menace looms, it’s time to put aside their differences and unite against a common foe.

Joker

Premieres Saturday, 19 September at 9pm on HBO GO and HBO.

W itness the dark descent of the individual best known as the Joker, the caped crusader’s most iconic nemesis, in this award-winning origin story. Stars Joaquin Phoenix.

Hustlers

Premieres Saturday, 26 September at 9pm on HBO GO and HBO.

The seedy world of strip clubs is revealed in this heist movie, inspired by a real-life case where a team of women turned the tables on their wealthy Wall Street clients, lining their pockets with profits. Stars Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu.

The Carbonaro Effect

Premieres Monday, 28 September at 8.10pm and 8.35pm on Warner TV. New episodes air at the same time every Monday.

Against all expectations, Michael Carbonaro continues to find new ways to prank unsuspecting customers, random people on the street and innocent co-workers with his ingenious and almost-believable plots.
