ABS-CBN’s Christmas Lyric Video “Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya” has garnered more than 5 million views on Facebook,and it is rising to the top trending videos with almost 2 million views on YouTube in just 12 hours.
The lyric video debuted during TV Patrol‘s newscast, after being posted earlier at noon on iWant TFC.
In line with its theme of spreading inspiration around the world, one noticeable feature of the lyric video is when the songs translate “liwanag” and “ligaya” into several languages, including Waray, Kapampangan, Maguindanao, Italian, Korean and Arabic.

Released in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic and after the forced shutdown of the ABS-CBN that culminated in the retrenchment of thousands of workers, “Ikaw ang Liwanag in Ligaya” speaks of a fresh start and hope, derived from faith.
According to Robert Labayen, head of ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management, they enjoyed the viewers’ good reaction.
“Gusto nating sabihin sa ating mga kapwa Pilipino na hindi tayo magpapatalo sa mga trials, hindi naton hihintayin ang panahon para sumaya, pwede na ngayon with God.”
Labayen added that all Kapamilya singers even made an effort to record the song and shoot themselves for the music video made during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The music video will premiere on Tuesday, December 1st.
