Kapamilya actress Jane De Leon reacted to rumors of Janine Gutierrez possibly taking on the role of Valentina. for Darna.
At the press conference for Jane’s role in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Jane said she would be happy to work with Janine.
“Ako po, I’m (really) happy if ever na makakatrabaho ko sya,” said Janine.
Then, Jane said she’s open to whoever plays Valentina. She also added that ABS-CBN will further hone Janine’s craft as an actress.
“Kasi sobrang open naman ako kung sino naman yung pwede for Valentina. And, it’s a big opportunity for her, lalo na kapag nandito sya sa ABS-CBN, sobrang maaalagaan talaga sya. And, lalong mahahasa talaga yung acting nya,” said Janine.
As for Janine, she reacted to the rumors at her media conference. She said that she’s interested in the role, and she feels flattered that people see her donning the iconic character. Janine also recalled seeing her grandmother, Pilita Corales, portraying Valentina in some of the films she saw when she was younger.
“Ano yun, it’s so interesting to me, kasi of course, I’m a fan of Darna, I’m a fan of all the old films. Actually, parang may napanood ako before na yung lola ko (Pilita Corales), nag-Valentina eh. I’m not sure, pero parang nung bata ako. So it’s interesting. And, syempre flattered ako na nakikita ako ng ibang tao na mapasama sa ganong klaseng proyekto. So, I don’t know we’ll see,” said Janine.
As for Jane, when she heard that the Darna project was becoming a TV series, she felt happy, especially for the younger fans of the female heroine.
“Nung nalaman ko naman po na TV series, I’m really happy pa rin po kasi natuloy. Syempre may mga fans din po ng Darna na nag-aabang din po dito, lalo na po yung mga bata. Yun po yung iniisip ko po talaga,” said Jane.
Jane portrays Police Captain Natalia Mante in the continuation of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. She will also fly soon as the new Darna with the upcoming teleserye.
