In a fast-paced and cutthroat industry like showbusiness, nothing lasts forever. Celebrities come and go, and their stars eventually fade. Jane and RK’s future as a love team is on hold as the two pursues separate projects in different TV networks, but their partnership is definitely to stay in 2021. Their recently-concluded mini-series on TV5 is enough proof that they can work again for another TV series, or who knows—movies, too.
Oineza and Bagatsing are both brilliant actors. They have proven their versatility and that they can pursue different partners in both movies and television. Jane’s latest MMK episode is a testament to her flexible artistry as she takes on a role of a lesbian lover, Bagatsing, on the other hand, will tackle an important role in the new ensemble drama, Huwag Kang Mangamba.
Fans are now keeping their tabs on the couple’s reunion, and who knows, if the next project they will star together and will earn them their place among the Olympians of Philippine love teams.
Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte (LoiNie)
Real-life sweethearts Loisa and Ronnie are among ASAP Natin ‘To’s most in-demand performers. It’s not hard to guess why they draw a huge following. Sultry dancefloor princess Loisa is a perfect match for a confident matinee idol-like Ronnie.
After delivering killer dosages of ‘kilig’ to their fans last year, through the Star Cinema movie, James, Pat, and Dave—the two now star on the new iWantTFC Original, Unloving You, which has already begun to stream this month.
In Unloving You, Alonte and Andalio share a love story they both deem to be forbidden and impossible. Reflecting their real-life romantic chemistry, the two stars brimmed with an irresistible appeal and succeeded in making their beautiful characters effective and relatable. Maris Racal and Iñigo Pascual (MarNigo)
Stars are seemingly aligned for MarNigo’s success as a premiere love team since they were first teamed-up via One Music POPSSSS! and an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. Succeeding number of appearances on television and in movies did follow.
Their most recent project was the 2020 film Boyette: Not A Girl Yet.
Coming from a successful primetime series on TV5, which may potentially get a second season, Racal seems poised to enjoy first her successful stint as a Kapatid star. Pascual, on the other hand, remains busy with his music and his Kapamilya engagements. However, as both are still attached to the Kapamilya network, the possibility of reuniting for a big project stays strong. Who knows if that may happen this year?
Maymay Entrata and Edward Barbers (MayWard)
MayWard has continuously delighted fans since 2016 when they both entered the PBB house. Appearances in movies and on television followed and cemented their tandem as among Kapamilya’s popular love teams. In 2017, they debuted as movie stars via the romcom, Loving in Tandem.
They also appeared in the blockbuster hit Fantastica in 2018. In 2021, they reunited in the Star Cinema movie, Princess Daya-Reese.
Barbers and Entrata are both ASAP Natin ‘To mainstays, which means fans won’t be running out of the MayWard kilig, anytime soon. The success of their recent movie, Princess Daya-Reese also warrants an upcoming project for the two.
