Avid fans and viewers of Super Tekla suspect that the comedian is either back to his vices or sick.
In Tekla’s recent videos on YouTube, obviously, the host lost weight and even looked haggard now compared to before.
As part of the showbiz industry, Tekla’s life is an open book. He has been open about his past and admitted that illegal drugs and gambling addiction caused the lowest point in his life and career.
Others assume that he is sick but, considering his past, others speculate that he went back to his bad vices.
Upon hearing the different allegations regarding his degrading physical appearance, Tekla immediately denied all of those.
Through DonEkla in Tandem YouTube channel, he clarified that is not hooked with his old vices.
In a live video, the comedian explained the truth behind his quick weight loss.
He said that his weight loss is a matter of choice. His decision to start dieting began when he observed that he is getting plump on TV.
“Tinitingnan ko rin ‘yung itsura ko kasi required din sa TV, sa amin sa TBATS. Sa TBATS, kapag tinitingnan ‘yung frame mo, hindi na magandang tingnan, so kailangan mong magdiyeta.”
The comedian-host also realized that he needs to present himself well every time he appears on TV or vlogs because is a public figure.
He apologized to his fans for being complacent about how he looks and how he presents himself on the camera.
“Lately kasi pag nagba-vlog tayo, tinatamad akong mag-make-up. Minsan kasi nagkakaroon tayo ng petiks eh. Ako, especially sa akin, medyo may slight tamad factor din ako, eh.”
There were even times when is too lazy to fix his looks for vlogging.
“So kapag tinopak, sige ‘te, okay na ‘yan. Mema lang. May ma-video lang or may mai-content lang na hindi ko isinaalang-alang kung ano magiging looks ko, kung ano magiging dating sa tao.”
He was comfortable with being simple and natural, forgetting that he is a TV personality and his job demands a pleasing appearance.
“Sorry and I forgot that ‘Ay, performer pala ako.’ Tinitingnan pala ako ng tao so kailangan ‘yung itsura ko presentable, maayos,” esplika pa ng stand-up comedian,” Tekla said.
