During the media conference for their upcoming movie, Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam–actor Jerald Napoles revealed why he is not married to his girlfriend singer-actress Kim Molina.
Napoles said both of them want to focus on their careers and build a foundation for their relationship before getting into marriage.
“Ano po eh, late bloomer po kami sa career. We want to maximize sana kung ano yung kaya kong i-offer para mas solido yung pundasyon kung saan kami papunta in the near future. Pero di po namin inaalis sa isip namin yung mga ganong bagay.”
He also noted how the pandemic impacted their plans of marriage.
“During this pandemic, it’s a day-to-day approach regarding what you want to plan ahead of time. So we need to survive now and this year first, and then let’s plan it together again after the year.”
Napoles then shared how their relationship works, with both of them being artists.
“Automatic, pag may project ako na kanta kailangan kong lumapit kay Kim as my vocal coach. Kasi strength talaga nya yun eh.
“Tapos pag naman sa acting, automatic lalapit sya sa akin kasi as a senior actor tapos mas nakapag, let say training ako na maraming nasalihan na ganon so mas alam ko kung paano iexplain Kay kim on a personal level, and a professional way yung pagiging acting senior sa kanya.”
He and Molina have been in a relationship for almost seven years, and they met while working on the musical Rak of Aegis.
Despite the length of their relationship, Napoles shared that they still encounter ‘surprises’ in their relationship.
“Marami, marami pa kasi, it’s a continuous process. Especially, habang tumatanda kami ng magkasama, nakikita namin yung isa’t isa. So naapektuhan nung ugali namin dati, yung ugali namin ngayon, at yung magiging ugali in the future na we are still both individuals in a relationship na talagang masu-surprise, both good and bad.”
Napoles and Molina star in the film Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam. The movie is directed by Darryl Yap. It tells the story of a woman afflicted with congenital insensitivity to pain.
