Jericho Rosales is set to work on a new project in the United States. The shooting will take place in Los Angeles and a Filipino-American will direct it.
Rosales kept mum about the other details, but he shared his excitement about this new project.
“I’m very excited because we’re going to be shooting in L.A. (Los Angeles), and I’ll be working with a Fil-Am director who’s based there.
“I just can’t announce anything but I’ve gotten the names of the people I’m gonna be working with and it’s medyo scary ng konti but it’s fun,” he said.
The original ’90s heartthrob hasn’t been on any TV series for a while.
His last teleserye was the top-rated series Halik, which premiered in 2018.
Based on his Instagram feed, he has been busy with his online show titled Gabi Na Naman With Jericho Rosales.
He is often seen on his Instagram posts singing or talking about random stuff with his show’s hashtag #gabinanaman.
Currently, he is staying in one of the country’s surfing paradise in La Union with his wife, host-model Kim Jones.
Way back in April 2019, the male star announced that he will be taking a break from TV series.
“I’ve been working for soap operas or TV shows for 23 years now…
“I don’t wanna do soaps anymore, and it is not a problem for me. Do I want to stop TV? No. It’s time for me to challenge myself to create something new for myself. Hopefully, it works,” he explained.
“I just want to create something new and I want to challenge myself. If it doesn’t work? It’s my fault. Something in me is dying already, so I have to breathe new life in this career,” he added.
He made this decision to prioritize his movie career and grab another chance to kick-start his career in Hollywood.
Despite being a loyal Kapamilya for years, the 41-year-old actor is now one of the celebrities rumored to transfer network.
His exclusive contract with ABS-CBN which he inked on March 16, 2018, ended in March 2020.
When rumors about Bea Alonzo, Piolo Pascual, and John Lloyd Cruz’s possible project in GMA Network circulated, many started to wonder if A-list actor Rosales intends to join the aforementioned stars.
Rosales began his acting career in 1996 by winning the Mr. Pogi talent search on the noontime variety television show, Eat Bulaga!
He then officially joined Eat Bulaga! as one of the noontime show’s hosts at the age of 17.
The following year, he moved to ABS-CBN and was launched as one of the members of Star Magic Circle Batch Four.
His career has spanned over 20 years and a variety of genres, warranting the moniker, Asia’s Prince of Dramas.
