“… Ako’y naniniwala sa Viva management at sa Viva Films, pag napipili nilang i-launch, talagang ito naman talaga,” reacted Direk Roman, during the virtual press conference for the upcoming film The Housemaid,, Monday, August 16.
Direk Roman Perez Jr. trusted VivaMax’s decision in choosing 2016 Miss International Kylie Versoza to lead the film, The Housemaid, its newest offering, and got impressed by her devotion, amid the pressure, in making the project excellent.
“Nakakaproud. Ginawa niya talaga lahat para sa pelikulang ito. Talagang tumalon siya sa apoy para sa pelikulang ito. Kaya maraming maraming salamat kay Kylie sa pagtitiwala niya,” He lauded.
Direk Roman also recalled how he did Adan, a 2019 erotic movie that involved yet another handpicked beauty queen—Cindy Miranda.
“Nung ginawa ko po yung ‘Adan’, isang beauty queen at isang teeny buff girl yung pinadala sa ‘kin. Handpicked po ito ng mga boss. At napag-tagumpayan naman natin,” he recalled.
However, since The Housemaid cast a new beauty queen in the person of Versoza, Direk Roman revealed he had to mold her into something else, which she did so, based on his observation.
“So ngayon, nung ‘idinarang sa apoy’ si Kylie Versoza, sa role niya bilang Daisy, siyempre iba yun.
“Ibang challenge yun kasi s’yempre Ms. International yan. Miss International, model, beauty queen, so bilang artista at actor, iba na.
“Ipipihit talaga natin ng 360—yung isang ikot ng Kylie Versoza at nagawa niya ito,” continued Direk Roman.
Meanwhile, Versoza, who was also present at the press conference, admitted she got pressured to lead her first-ever film.
“Honestly before pa lumabas yung trailer, and after ng shoot namin, may pressure talaga s’ya,” she confessed.
But through Direk Roman’s assurance, her doubts faded.
“Pero no’ng nakita ko po yung trailer and no’ng nagkaka-chat po kami ni direk, na mas ina-assure n’ya ako na maganda ‘yong pelikula.”
She also took the opportunity to thank the cast members, seasoned actor Albert Martinez, established actress Jaclyn Jose, and Louise Delos Reyes for guiding her throughout the production.
“At syempre po kasama ko po dito sila Ms. Jaclyn at si kuya Albert, si Louise, parang mas alam mo yun, yung security ko sa pelikula, mas malakas.
“Kaya sobrang grateful lang po talaga ako sa inyo for being in this project so parang I really don’t think it’s just me eh,” thanked Kylie.
