The Inspirational Diva Jamie Rivera launched the music video for “Awit Ng Misyon,” the Tagalog version of the ‘500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines’ mission song “We Give Our Yes.”
The timely release coincided with the commemoration of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary last Wednesday (September 8).
With a central theme of thanksgiving and love, “Awit Ng Misyon” music video opens with a special message from the Archbishop of Manila Cardinal Jose F. Advincula about keeping the faith and pursuing God’s mission.
It features groups of Filipinos interpreting the song from The Manila Cathedral, other churches, and beautiful sites located in various parts of the Philippines.
Jamie also formally launched her version of “Awit Ng Misyon” on “ASAP Natin ‘To” last Sunday (September 5), with a production number of healing and inspirational OPM songs together with Kapamilya singers Angeline Quinto, Elha Nympha, Erik Santos, Gigi De Lana, iDolls, Janella Salvador, Janine Berdin, Jason Dy, Jed Madela, JM Yosures, Klarisse de Guzman, Lara Maigue, Nyoy Volante, Rachel Alejandro, Sam Concepcion, Sheena Belarmino, and Yeng Constantino.
A project of ABS-CBN’s Star Music in partnership with the Archdiocese of Manila, “Awit Ng Misyon” was featured in Spotify Philippines’ New Music Friday playlist after it dropped on music streaming platforms last week.
The song was written by “We Give Our Yes” composer Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo together with Quiapo Church Rector Msgr. Hernando Coronel and produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
