On September 13, Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 4 Grand Champion JM Yosures called himself a newborn after his journey in the singing competition.
During the media conference for TNT Season 5 Grand Finals, Yosures considered himself a newborn since he is a newcomer in the entertainment industry.
“Kasi talagang before ako nagjoin ng Tawag ng Tanghalan honestly, hindi po ako musician, hindi po ako related sa any music ‘yung profession ko. So ngayon na nandito ako parang bagong panganak ‘yung feeling ko. Talagang parang bagong salta ako sa industry and I’m just discovering myself.”
He then recalled how much his life changed after bagging the TNT Season 4 Grand Champion title.
“Para po talaga sa akin para pong 180 degrees ‘yung pinagbago ng buhay ko dahil ‘yung katulad nga ni Janine parang hindi ko talaga naisip din. Even pinangarap na makatungtong sa ganitong platform, even in the same zoom room dito sa mga icons natin.”
Yosures then thanked the Kapamilya network and ‘It’s Showtime’ for the exciting opportunities.
“Ang dami ko pang tatahakin and I’ve won like six to seven months and I’m just really thankful sa six months na ‘yun. And, I’m really excited po kung ano pa ‘yung pagdadaanan ko.
“I’m just so excited and thankful sa binigay sa akin ng Tawag ng Tanghalan na opportunities.”
Later on in the interview, Yosures shared advice to the eight grand finalists of TNT Season 5.
“Mahalin mo ‘yung ginagawa mo and isipin mo kung bakit mo siya ginagawa in the first place.
“Ipagpatuloy niyo lang ‘yung passion niyo and surround yourself doon sa mga taong positive ‘yung outlook pagdating sa passion mo.”
Yosures won the 4th season of Tawag ng Tanghalan in February 2021 with a total combined score of 89% in the final round. He sang a medley of Lady Gaga songs such as Million Reasons, I’ll Never Love Again, and You and I.
As for the fifth season of Tawag ng Tanghalan, eight contenders will battle it out on September 18, Saturday, for the title of TNT Season 5 Grand Champion on It’s Showtime.
Among these talented singers are Reiven Umali, Froilan Cedilla, Psalm Manalo, Gem Christian, Adrian Manibale, Anthony Castillo, Lorraine Galvez, and Aixia Mallary.
The TNT Season 5 Grand Champion will take home P1 million, a brand new house and lot from Camella worth P2.3 million, a recording contract with ABS-CBN Music, a management contract under Star Magic’s Polaris, and a trophy designed by Toym Imao.
