The Clash Season 4 judge, actress Ai-Ai delas Alas said on Tuesday, September 28, that she is already prepared to get criticized for her performance in the upcoming Kapuso singing competition.
“Looking forward ako na pag-usapan ako at mag-trending tapos ma-bash. Haha!” she said in the show’s virtual media conference.
Ai-Ai went viral for her covers of hit songs by the popular K-pop group BLACKPINK.
In 2020, many criticized her versions of the group’s Ice Cream and Lovesick Girls as part of her performance in the last season of The Clash.
The actress is also looking forward to performing the latest song of BLACKPINK’s member Lisa. She revealed that although there is no confirmation yet about her performance, she would like to make her own version of Lisa’s Lalisa.
“Wala pa pero sina-suggest ko. Of course may bago ang BLACKPINK, si Lalisa, so malamang ‘yon ang ipe-perform ko.”
One of the judges, Lani Misalucha, joined in by revealing that Ai-Ai wants to perform in the newest season of The Clash.
“Wala pa namang pinag-uusapan sa performance n’ya pero pinagpipilitan n’yan, gustong i-perform,” revealed Lani.
Ai-Ai agreed that there was no thumbs-up for her performance yet, but stressed she wanted to perform one of BLACKPINK’s songs.
“Pinagpipilitan ko talaga na wala pa naman talaga pero, pinipilit ko talaga na magpe-perform ako. Pinipilit ko parati ang sarili ko d’yan kaya alam mo na,” she insisted.
Meanwhile, after The Clash, Ai-Ai will take a break from showbiz and go to the States to become a full-time wife to her husband, Gerald Sibayan. However, she noted that she would return to the show as it has always had been.
“Ang The Clash kasi, ‘yan ang parating uuwian ko in case. Kasi s’yempre minsan sa buhay natin, kagaya ni Golden, minsan may priority ka rin. Although babalik naman ako dito kasi nanay ko matanda na, bibisitahin ko.
“Kaya lang s’yempre, sa totoo lang, ngayon palang ako talaga magiging may asawa.”
She also revealed that she has plans to make her husband an American citizen.
“Na ang priority ko si Gerald kasi bukod sa ipe-petition ko s’ya, kailangan n’ya din ng kasama doon sa Amerika. Alangan namang nandito ako nandoon s’ya,” she added.
Furthermore, Ai-Ai said that she would comply with the requirements to become a fully pledged Greencard holder during her upcoming hiatus—spend five years in America.
“Tsaka ngayon ko lang din ifu-full blast ng green card ko. 2015 pa kasi ang green card ko. So kung bibilangin mo, nung 2020, five years na ako, dapat citizen na ako.
“So ngayon ko s’ya talaga bubunuin. Kasi ‘di ba sayang naman yung pagkakataon? Binigyan ako ni Lord ng pagkakataon na magkaroon ng green card sasayangin ko lang. So gagawan ko s’ya ng paraan na lang.”
The Clash Season 4 will premiere on October 2, at 7:15 p.m., only on GMA Network.
