Marlo Mortel opens up on his recent issues as an artist and on how he handles them.

Recently, Mortel made the rounds on social media as netizens claimed that the actor did plastic surgery on his nose.

In an exclusive interview with the actor, he clarified that he never went under the knife in his entire life.

He simple laughed off the rumors saying, “Natatawa ako actually. Kasi siguro, ‘yung pandemic hindi lang ‘yung talent ko ang na hone niya.”

“I don’t know what is it about my face na feeling nila na nagpa-retoke ako. Kasi wala talaga kahit ni isang piraso na ginalaw. Kaya natatawa ako,” he said.

He also said that he would take the rumors as a compliment as it implied that his facial features had improved.

“Siguro I’ll take it as a compliment. Nag-mature lang din ako,” he said.

When asked about when he would choose to answer back to his bashers, Mortel said he would speak up if the bashing would get too far.

He gave an example of bashers going too far when they would direct hate towards his mom for being in the hospital for too long.

“It’s below the belt. Dahil may family na na-involed. Minsan it’s okay, I don’t mind. ‘Pag mababaw na issue, I don’t mind.

“Pero [if] it’s affecting your mental health, your well-being, you should also speak up kasi everybody is entitled to do that and ‘yung mga artista, we are entitled to do that,” he said.

Mortel’s mother passed away in August 2018 because of breast cancer.

The actor also shared that he is not easily affected by the bashing that he receives.

“‘Di ako masyadong affected sa mga bashing kasi naniniwala naman ako na lahat naman tayo entitled to do that. May mga tao lang talaga na mga mean,” he said.

He left a message for them saying, “Let them pay the price if the price is right.”

Marlo Mortel recently signed with Polyeast Records and released his new single “Bituin.”

The song is about finding one’s inner joy and happiness in life.

Mortel’s new single, Bituin, is currently available on all streaming platforms.
