On November 15, influencer Aira Lopez and model Kyle Maceda attended the press conference for their upcoming show on CNN, Cycling Unlimited.
During the launch of the sports show, Lopez first shared her thoughts on why people turned to bike riding amid the pandemic.
And, also naging factor din ‘yung bike to work. Parang na-curious sila. So prefer nila kasi di lang pang work, pwede rin siyang pang exercise. Pang travel.”
Maceda also highlighted the benefits of bike riding in terms of health and adaptability to the pandemic.
“I think convenient, pag-ano when you start cycling, you can go to places like work ng nagba-bike lang. Partly exercise.”
Lopez then shared how her father influenced her and their whole family into bike riding.
As in ang dami nanamin doon.”
As for Maceda, he revealed that his friends convinced him to ride bikes with them.
“March last year, yeah March last year. Bumili ako ng sarili kong bike. Noong una nanghiram lang ako, pinahiram nila ako, sabi nila, ‘try mong mag-bike. Sumama ka samin.’ Then at first, sabi ko, ‘Ayaw ko nakakapagod, di naman nakakatuwa ‘yung pagba-bike. Then after that, na-realize ko, after few more runs, it’s fun pala, especially kung nakikita mo ‘yung mga magagandang lugar na pinupuntahan niyo.”
They then both shared their most memorable bike rides during their cycling journey.
“My first journey was hard, kasi syempre hindi naman ako used sa pagpe-pedal. I do endurance training, I jog, football, basketball, pero when it comes to biking, nanghihina ako agad. So after that, nag-training ako, daily basis, I do 10KM noong bago pa lang ako, 10KM per day,” Maceda added.
Lopez is a known YouTube vlogger with over 531,000 subscribers, while Maceda is a model that has made appearances in projects such as FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Now, Maceda and Lopez join forces in hosting CNN’s Cycling Unlimited. Their sports show focused on cycling has been scheduled to premiere in March 2022.
