GMA Network is set to release brand new stories and offerings for the Kapuso viewers next year.
Here is the confirmed list of upcoming shows that you should watch out for on GMA Network in 2022:
1. Love You Stranger
This series will be bannered by Gabbi Garcia, Khalil Ramos, and Gil Cuerva. This is also Garcia and Ramos’ first teleserye together.
The real-life couple started their lock-in taping for the show in March 2021, and although not much is revealed about the show’s plot yet, Love You Stranger is reportedly a “romance-mystery” series.
After several schedule postponements, it was announced that the cast of the series would resume their taping in 2022.
2. False Positive
Glaiza De Castro and Xian Lim will star as a love team for the first time in an upcoming TV series titled False Positive.
In an interview with Lhar Santiago of GMA News 24 Oras on Friday, November 19, De Castro revealed that her character in the False Positive series is different from her past roles.
“Hindi na kayo iiyak, hindi na kayo maiinis. Sa ngayon light lang tayo, positive lang,” she said.
3. Widow’s Web
This series will be headlined Ashley Ortega and Pauline Mendoza. The upcoming Kapuso series will also star Carmina Villaroel, Dave Bornea, EA Guzman, Adrian Alandy, Arthur Solinap, Ryan Eigenmann Vanessa Peña, Mosang, Anjay Ayson, Alan Paule, and Karenina Haniel. It is written by the head writer of GMA Network, R.J. Nuevas
4. Little Princess
Little Princess is an upcoming television drama romance series on GMA Network. Directed by L.A. Madridejos, it stars Jo Berry in the title role. It tells the story of Princess, who grew up in poverty, but her life will eventually change after discovering she is an heiress of a big manufacturing company.
5. Voltes V Legacy
The action science fiction fantasy series is based on the Japanese anime television series Chōdenji Machine Voltes V by Toei Company and Sunrise. Directed by Mark A. Reyes, it stars Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho and Ysabel Ortega. Voltes V: The Kapuso network has already released Legacy trailers in February 2021, but there is still no specific date for its premiere date.
6. Mano Po
Directed by Ian Loreños, ‘Mano Po: The Series’ will be aired on primetime slot of the Kapuso Network. Mano Po: The Series’ is a collaboration between Regal Entertainment Inc. and GMA Network Inc. It is based on one of the most successful film series produced in the history of Philippine cinema. Barbie Forteza and David Licauco are rumored to play the lead roles of the TV adaptation of ‘Mano Po.’
7. Alternate
Alternate is a mini-series starring Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes and Beauty Gonzalez. It is part of the second season of the drama anthology I Can See You in April 2021. The upcoming series will also star Joyce Ching, Bryan Benedict, Jackie Lou Blanco, and Ricky Davao.
8. Primadonnas Season 2
The hit afternoon series top-billed by Jillian Ward, Althea Ablan, Elijah Alejo, and Sofia Pablo is set to return for its second season in 2022. Katrina Halili, Wendell Ramos, Chanda Romero, James Blanco, and Aiko Melendez will still be part of the series.
9. Artikulo 247
Rhian Ramos and Mark Herras are set to reunite in the legal drama series Artikulo 247 with Jackie Rice and Rocco Nacino. It tells the story of a woman who fights for justice and her chance for a new life against an antagonist who, on the other hand, tries to get away with murder twice by using legal means.
10. Lolong
The action-adventure series is inspired by the world’s largest crocodile in captivity of the same name. It will be starred by Ruru Madrid, Arra San Agustin, and Shaira Diaz. The series will tackle environmental issues such as climate change, global warming, and the extinction of animals.
11. Bea Alonzo’s still untitled teleserye
Bea Alonzo is set to do her first series as a Kapuso. No details about the series are disclosed yet.
“Meron na ‘kong teleserye na gagawin pero hahayaan ko na lang ang GMA mag-disclose kung ano ‘yon because I think hindi ko pa siya puwede sabihin,” she said during her contract signing with GMA Network on Thursday, July 1.
She added, “I know na kung sino ring makakasama ko [so it’s] very, very exciting.
“Pero I can already say that it’s gonna be in primetime.”
12. Happy Together
John Lloyd Cruz’s first project with the GMA network is Happy Together’s sitcom. It is reported that he will be working with Kapuso actors like Miles Ocampo, Jayson Gainza, Carmi Martin, and Janus del Prado in the project. Edgar Mortiz will be helming the show.
13. Agimat Ng Agila Season 2
Top-rating fantasy drama series Agimat ng Agila is set to return for season two. It is top-billed by Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. as Major Gabriel Labrador. Sanya Lopez, Michele Dee, Allen Dizon, Elizabeth Oropesa, Edgar Allan Guzman, Miggs Cuaderno, Ian Ignacio, Roi Vinzon, and Sheryl Cruz are also part of the powerhouse cast.
14. First Lady
First Lady is the sequel of the hit First Yaya, which Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion led. It was announced that Alice Dixson would be part of the upcoming series. The GMA Network has yet to disclose the other cast of the show.
