SB19 bags Royal Pride trophy at the 2021 RAWR Awards

SB19 added more pieces of the highly-coveted golden lion figurine to their trophy shelf when they dominated this year’s RAWR Awards.

‘P-POP Kings’ is a fitting title to one of the biggest PPOP acts today, as they swept all the awards from the categories they all got nominated for in this year’s RAWR Awards.

SB19 added more pieces of the highly-coveted golden lion figurine to their trophy shelf when they dominated this year’s RAWR Awards. After supplanting the global and award-winning group, BTS, off Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart, the local idol sensation seems all-poised to create more milestones, for themselves.

Their domination during the awarding ceremony for RAWR Awards 2021, did not at all surprising, but them sweeping again all their nominations is sure a feat that is worth celebrating.

Under CUB Awards, the three-year-old group won its second Song of the Year trophy for their smash hit, Mapa. The song, whose lyric video already garnered 60 million views on YouTube, was re-recorded by the group alongside the pop-folk band, Ben&Ben. Mapa is now the year’s 2nd most viewed on YouTube, according to the platform’s year-end report. SB19 was awarded the same award at last year’s ceremony for their song, Alab.

For the second time since LionhearTV held the first awarding ceremony for RAWR Awards, SB19 wins as the Favorite Performer of the year. The group was honored with the same award, last year. The act bested out Regine Velasquez, Sarah Geronimo, and Daniel Padilla, among others, in the said category.

SB19 also reigned supreme in the Favorite Group category, as they bested out seven other nominees. It is the third time that the group received the award, after taking it home in 2019 and 2021.

That makes SB19, the only local act so far, to bag the prestigious award. Boy groups, Hashtags, and BoybandPH were the previous winners of the award in 2018 and 2017, respectively.

Bagging their second trophy, SB19’s legion of devoted fans called A’Tin, is named the Fan Club of the Year. The recognition does not at all surprising, as the fan group is undoubtedly one of the most active and visible in social media, throughout the year. The group got ahold of the highly-coveted golden lion trophy, last year.

To cap its trophy haul this year, SB19 bagged the year’s Royal Pride award, a distinction given to personalities and groups that have excelled astronomically in their field. Royal Awards have been previously handed to the likes of Charo Santos, Vice Ganda. Award-winning Kapamilya actor, John Arcilla, and the first Filipina Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz, are the other Royal awardees this year.

The 2021 RAWR Awards is the seventh edition of the annual awarding ceremony held by LionhearTV, one of the country’s leading entertainment sites. Winners are decided by fans and members of the entertainment press and PR personalities.
