Genre: Romance, Drama

Premise: A a young woman from Sorsogon who has reinvented herself in Manila as a fashion designer and socialite, follows her heart’s desires and fulfills her lifelong dreams.

Running Time: 25 minutes

Director: Mark Sicat dela Cruz

Time slot: Weeknights, 8 PM

Why You Should See It:

Celeste (Heart Evangelista) makes peace with her past and embraces her present in the heartwarming conclusion of I Left My Heart in Sorsogon. The 65-episode primetime drama bids adieu with a bittersweet finale, but it leaves a lighthearted impression warm enough to bring joy.

There are choices made in this sugarcoated farewell, and some of them are not necessarily sweet. Celeste breaks up with her great love Tonito (Richard Yap), and the latter wholeheartedly let her go. Mikoy, on the other hand, decides to marry Hazel (Michelle Dee). But when Tonito reminds Celeste who her one true love is, she finds herself at a crossroads again, where she needs to decide which way to go. There are beautiful surprises here, and they tug at the heartstrings when you least expect them.

The finale episode left quite a pile of touching life lessons. It reminds the audience how second chances are all for everybody, although they are not necessarily happy. It’s a sentiment and truth that Celeste finally learns and embraces, which ultimately directs her to whom her heart truly belongs.

Overall, the finale week caps this unevenly charming series with a heartfelt conclusion. On top of it, it ends its brief prime time run as a rating winner. That alone says a lot about the show’s decent run, albeit its failure to match its predecessors’ success.
